Shannon Heitkamp partners with clients to design, execute, and interpret real-world impacts of health economics outcomes research projects.
Before joining Avalere Health, Shannon served as a senior researcher at Mathematica, where she led mixed methods studies evaluating the full cycle of population health interventions for various government, life sciences, and foundations clients. Employing rigorous implementation science and causal methods, she has helped clients make evidence-driven decisions impacting their healthcare strategies.
Shannon also worked at Elevance Health as a director in their Public Policy Institute, developing research studies on topics such as dually eligible beneficiaries’ healthcare utilization patterns and impacts of Medicare Advantage policy changes on health outcomes.
Shannon holds an MS in epidemiology and public health from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and BAs in economics and English from the University of St. Thomas.
