Ed Drozd supports life sciences, health plan, and provider clients with quantitative modeling and analyses of real-world data to understand patterns of utilization, quality, and spending to inform business decisions and public policy.
Ed has over 20 years’ experience conducting studies of Medicare and other payers’ payment and coverage policies and understanding the effects of policy changes. Before joining Avalere, at RTI International Ed led or conducted numerous studies of Medicare payment policies and demonstrations, including for inpatient psychiatric services and alternative payment models for over 10 years. At Avalere he has continued a wide variety of statistical and predictive modeling on alternative risk models; healthcare utilization, quality, and payment patterns; and risk adjustment.
Ed holds a PhD in Economics from Harvard University and a BS in Mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
